John Mack is a Harvard psychiatrist that has written the book
Abduction: human encounters with aliens. At first skeptical
about the whole alien phenomenon, he soon changed his mind
when he began to meet with alleged abductees. The
shear number of these abductees, their conviction that something
had happened to them, and the consistencies between many of
their experiences changed Mack's mind. Mack's years of experience
in dealing with victims of traumatic events, convinced him
that these people had all shared similar traumatic experiences.
He began to investigate further into the alien phenomenon, and is now one of the key figures among UFO/alien researchers.
